"Biomedical Research and Scientific Careers"
June 14-15, 2012
Konzil, Konstanz, Germany
The Insel Symposium is intended to provide novel insights into the hot topics of biomedical research and innovative experimental strategies. This symposium is not devoted to a single scientific area but aims to provide a broad scope of visionary concepts in the field of biomedical science.
Moreover, this year’s symposium attempts to cover the span between scientific efforts and the way how notable researchers realized their unique ideas and achieved scientific excellence. The invited speakers will talk about the field of research that fascinates them most and will additionally refer to their personal career paths. The combination of cutting-edge science and first-hand information on career development makes this a unique event which will be further enriched by panel discussions. Especially for young scientists it is exceptionally helpful to learn about strategies to master the challenge of a career in science.
The Insel Symposium is organised entirely by the PhD students of the research training group 1331 (RTG1331: “Cell-based characterisation of disease mechanisms in tissue destruction and repair”) which comprises students from the University of Albstadt-Sigmaringen, the University of Konstanz, the University of Zurich, the Empa (Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Science and Technology) and from the pharmaceutical companies Boehringer Ingelheim and Nycomed.
We look forward to meeting you at the Insel Symposium 2012 in Konstanz!
